How are you juggling school at home?

I am not gonna lie to you guys! It has been rough and full of tears, but I have less than three weeks left of my sophomore year (when I wrote this)! I will then have my Associates Degree!! It has been a long and painful two years to work for that degree! I miss the atmosphere that campus life has to offer. I miss being with my friends every day. I miss working in the admissions office, and I REALLY miss not having track practice. I wasn't 100% sure about going to college for track. I'll be honest, I saw it as a way to help pay for school. I was nervous signing because I wasn't sure about doing sports in college. Then my senior year I messed up my 'throwing' shoulder. So I ended up spending my first indoor season rehabbing my shoulder to build up the strength that I had my junior year of HS. Going into my sophomore year at Dodge, I was beyond pumped for the season. I felt stronger than ever and ready to CONQer the season. Indoor went great! I ended up setting new PR's at my last meet. I was prepared to CRUSH that new PR during the outdoor season, but then this virus had to come in and ruin everything. I am broken hearted. I was prepared to qualify for nationals, I had complete faith in myself. To say that my word was turned upside down is a complete understatement.

What are your plans for after Dodge?

Well most people knew my plans to head off to Colorado State University up in Fort Collins. God decided that he had another plan for me. I am currently expecting my first child! I am excited and nervous for this new chapter in my life! Since all of this is happening, I will be staying closer to home for a year. During that year, I am going to attend Lamar Community College and strive for their Veterinary Certificate! Still going to school and getting smarter! I will then decide what to do next when I come to that crossroad!

What is happening with Swank Photography?

I am definitely not going to stop taking pictures! Taking pictures has been my favorite constant through my life, so that is going nowhere! But you will be seeing some different changes! Some have already happened, like the new logo and the new website design! Also blogging is going to start becoming a more constant thing. There are a few more changes that are ahead but I am still working on them! Just keep checking the Facebook and Instagram page to stay up to date on all things Swank Photography as well as any updates relating to my future as a mom!
